Comment Spam
Well - It didn’t take long, I’ve only been running this blog for a month and I got hit by Comment Spam over the weekend 
Basically a bot had posted an identical comment to each of my posts — Some shitehawk peddling Viagra.
Very boring having to delete each comment by hand - luckily since I’m such a crap blogger there weren’t that many.
Alas I see it’s a common problem.
Conversely the Mobile Phone operators seem to have cracked-down on the SMS spammers recently - I haven’t had a “You’ve won our fictional contest” text in a while now so not all is bad in the world

MT-blacklist is the only way to go. I got hit with 230 identical comment spams. I deleted them manually. Then I installed MT-blacklist. Big mistake. MT-blacklist would have deleted all of them with 3 clicks or so. Installation wasn’t as difficult as I thought it might be. Anyway, check it out…
